To evaluate the processing of claims, it is important to establish a mechanism for reviewing the degree to which expected results are being achieved. This will be accomplished by establishing service standards. They are as follows: 

  • All claims are assigned for handling the same day they are received.

  • Confirm Coverage.

  • Contact with insured within 24 hours from the date of assignment.

  • Contact with claimants within 24 hours from the date of assignment.

  • First party claims less than $10,000 will be settled within 30 days from the date of notice.

  • For all claims over 30 days old, the file must contain sufficient information to evaluate the exposure for the purpose of establishing a reserve.

  • All reserved claims will be placed on a diary system. Progress reports will be placed in the file prior to the file being re-diaried.

  • Payment information and claim denial letters will be sent to the agent producing the business and the client or insured.

  • All mail will be processed within 72 hours of receipt.
